Pakistan, Belarus sign several MoUs
MoU was signed between ‘Shehzad Trade Links’ and ‘Belshina’ for the supply of tires in the Pakistani market
Islamabad: Several Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) were signed between Pakistan and Belarus.
During the Pakistan-Belarus Business Forum, agreements were signed between the two countries. Various MoUs were signed, including Pak-Belarus's five-year cooperation with Nutrifood and Pharmaceutical Company and Belact.
At the ceremony, an MoU was signed between ‘Shehzad Trade Links’ and ‘Minsk Motor Plant’ for the supply of products. Another MoU was signed between ‘Shehzad Trade Links’ and ‘Belshina’ for the supply of tires in the Pakistani market.
Earlier, while addressing the business forum, Federal Minister for Commerce Sardar Jam Kamal said that it is necessary to increase trade between Pakistan and Belarus. Belarusian tractors are considered a symbol of sustainability and strength in Pakistan. A roadmap for 2025-27 has been agreed between the two countries and will take practical steps for cooperation.
He stated that Pakistan and Belarus are partners in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to promote regional trade and connectivity. Pakistan is looking for technology transfer from Belarus and investment in joint projects, energy, agriculture, ICT and other sectors are open for foreign investment in Pakistan. There is a need to diversify bilateral trade between the two countries.
He further said that Pakistan's exports of meat, dairy, agricultural, and paper products can be increased. There is a need to reduce trade barriers with Belarus and facilitate market access. Pakistan is committed to becoming a trade and transit hub in the region.
