Kurram DC said that all schools and colleges in the area have re-opened after ceasefire by political jirga

Kurram: After more than 100 deaths in the ongoing armed conflict in Kurram district for several days, normal life has started to return to normal after a complete ceasefire in the area due to the intervention of the political jirga, and schools in the area also reopened today.
According to a report, Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud said that all schools and colleges in the area have opened after the ceasefire by the political jirga.
In addition, mobile phone services have also started to be restored, which were suspended as a result of the armed conflict in the district.
However, despite the ceasefire between the parties, the highway connecting Parachinar and Upper Kurram with the provincial capital Peshawar is still closed to traffic.
It is pertinent to note that on November 21, a group started armed riots on the same highway in the Upper Dir area of Kurram district by firing on passenger vehicles, after which the highway was closed to traffic.
After this incident, the series of firing between the two sides continued, with a total of 43 people killed on the first day of firing from both sides.
The closure of roads led to a severe shortage of food and other daily necessities in the district.
Kurram Deputy Commissioner Mehsud said that the sides have vacated the trenches used to attack each other, which have been occupied by security forces and police.
