Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has reopened its diplomatic mission in the Afghan capital, Kabul, since yesterday.
The Saudi embassy says the mission’s resumption aims to provide services to Afghans.
In a statement, the diplomatic mission said the move reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fraternal relations and bilateral cooperation, which will be promoted between the two nations.
After the fall of the Afghan democratic government in August 2021, several foreign embassies suspended their activities in Kabul and formal representation in the country ended.
The Saudi embassy staff also left Kabul on February 5, 2023, citing security concerns.
