WB approves $450mn for Pakistan

Washington: The World Bank has approved a $450 million loan for Pakistan.

According to a report issued by the World Bank, the money will be spent on the Sindh Flood Emergency Housing Reconstruction Project. This money will help rebuild houses in the affected areas, and will also help provide water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.

The report said that the new assistance will be based on a $500 million project approved in 2022. The project includes the construction of 410,000 basic housing units under the project. At least 360,000 more people in Sindh will benefit from the additional financial assistance.

The report issued by the World Bank further said that this money is to expand efforts to build inclusive housing for these people. These additional resources will help provide at least 30,000 safe water and sanitation facilities.
