FBR spokesperson said that new vehicles are purchased to improve efficiency of field officers
Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to purchase more than 1,000 new vehicles.
The FBR has written a Letter of Intent to the company to purchase 1,010 new vehicles, which will cost more than Rs6 billion.
According to the FBR letter, the new vehicles will be purchased in two phases, for which the FBR will pay the full amount. An advance payment of Rs3 billion will be made for the purchase of 1,010 vehicles which will be considered as full payment for 500 vehicles.
The letter states that the remaining payment will be made after the delivery of the first batch of 500 vehicles, and the delivery of 1,010 vehicles will be made from January to May 2025. In the first phase, 75 vehicles will be delivered in January, 200 in February, and 225 in March. In the second phase, 250 vehicles will be delivered in April and 260 in March.
The FBR spokesperson said that the purchase of vehicles is part of the FBR's transformation plan. These vehicles are being purchased to improve the efficiency of field officers and will be only for them.
