Lahore: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officials have caught electricity theft worth millions of rupees in two mills in Lahore.
According to LESCO Chief Shahid Haider, the owners of a furnace mill in Lahore’s Shalamar area were stealing electricity by installing a mobile transformer. A case has been registered against the accused and detection bill proceedings have been initiated.
Shahid Haider said that a few days ago, a large-scale theft of electricity was also caught from a steel mill in the same area. Both the mills have been fined more than one billion rupees, while detection bill proceedings have also been initiated.
He further said that influential electricity thieves are being caught with the help of Rangers.
