DC Lahore issued notification rejecting request of PTI Vice President


Lahore: The Punjab government has rejected the request of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.
Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Farooq Haider disposed of the request of PTI to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.
The Deputy Commissioner Lahore issued a notification rejecting the request of PTI Vice President Akmal Bari and submitted a report in this regard to the court.
The report of DC Lahore said that PTI cannot be allowed to hold a rally, as there have been three terrorist incidents in the country recently, including the attack on Bannu Cantt and Jaffar Express.
The report further said that a specific threat alert was also issued that Fitna Al-Khawarij has trained 76 terrorists who can carry out terrorism in Pakistan.
In light of the report of DC Lahore, the Lahore High Court disposed of the PTI’s request for a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.
The court said in its remarks that the Deputy Commissioner Lahore has rejected PTI's request for permission to hold a rally. If the petitioner wishes, he can challenge the Deputy Commissioner's decision.
