Minister says solution to social media abuse lies in implementation of PECA Act

Faisalabad: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Prime Minister’s adviser, Rana Sanaullah Khan, stated that Pakistan will no longer tolerate terrorism.
Speaking to the media after Eidul Fitr prayers in Faisalabad, Sanaullah said that military operations are the only solution to terrorism.
He added that those responsible for terrorism, including agents from India and Afghanistan, will continue to face strong actions. He emphasized that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs have made it possible for the nation to celebrate Eid.
“Our nation exists because of the sacrifices made by our martyrs and their families,” Sanaullah said. He also made it clear that any attack on innocent civilians would not be tolerated, and sympathizers of terrorists would face consequences.
Sanaullah also highlighted that the world now recognizes Pakistan’s improvement after overcoming its economic crisis. Reports from major institutions show a positive change, with inflation decreasing and the general public’s situation improving.
On the Punjab government’s relief measures, Sanaullah stated that the aim is to ease the lives of the common people. He criticized political opponents who spread division and hatred, predicting that they would have a bleak future. He also spoke about the completion of key infrastructure projects, including the Lahore-Multan motorway through Satyana Road, a project worth Rs10 billion that is set to be completed this year. Other projects, such as the metro and IT city, will also be finished soon.
Addressing the issue of terrorism, Sanaullah reiterated that military action is the only way to deal with the threat. Pakistan will continue to take action against terrorism supported by foreign agents. However, he added that the government is open to dialogue with those who respect Pakistan’s constitution and do not support terrorism.
Sanaullah also mentioned the absence of PTI representatives at the National Security Committee meeting, but he expressed a willingness to engage in discussions with media outlets. He added that the government is ready to amend laws if necessary to address raised issues.
Finally, Sanaullah addressed social media abuse, saying that the solution lies in properly enforcing the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
