Heatwave may be severe in the districts of southern Punjab


Lahore: The heat wave situation in Sindh has ended, while it continues in Punjab, because of which Maryam Nawaz has directed the relevant agencies to remain alert.
According to the Meteorological Department, the heat wave situation has ended in the city due to the partial restoration of sea breezes. Sea breezes are likely to be fully restored by this evening. The temperature in the city is expected to decrease from today.
The minimum temperature in Karachi today was recorded at 25.5 degrees Celsius, and the humidity ratio in the air was recorded at 74 percent. At present, there is clear and bright sunshine in the city and the current temperature is 32 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour in Karachi. The maximum temperature is likely to increase to 36 to 38 degrees Celsius today.
The perceived temperature is expected to be two or three degrees higher than normal due to the increase in humidity. The weather is likely to remain hot and humid during the next 24 hours.
On the other hand, according to PDMA, heatwave will continue in Punjab today as well, with temperatures likely to reach 45 degrees Celsius by the end of April.
The heatwave may be severe in the districts of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan in southern Punjab. Yesterday, 44 degrees were recorded in Bahawalnagar, 42 degrees in Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, and 41 degrees in Kot Addu.
According to PDMA, temperatures up to 40 degrees were recorded in Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Okara, Multan, Mandi Bahauddin, Khanewal, Kasur, Layyah, Jhang, Hafizabad, and Faisalabad.
The DG PDMA said that in view of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the relevant institutions should remain alert. He said that the supply of clean water is being ensured in the districts of Cholistan.
