‘Individuals who sleep less than 5 or 6 hours per night face a significantly higher risk of developing heart disease’

(Web Desk): Recent scientific research has revealed that sleep deprivation may be even more harmful to heart health than previously thought by experts.
Lack of sleep not only increases the risk of heart disease but also affects heart health through contributing factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and mental stress.
According to a comprehensive meta-analysis, individuals who sleep less than 5 or 6 hours per night face a significantly higher risk of developing heart disease. Sleep deprivation leads to increased inflammation in the body, disrupts hormonal balance, and affects blood sugar levels — all of which heighten the risk of heart-related conditions.
Furthermore, another study found that people with irregular sleep schedules have double the risk of heart disease, even if their total sleep duration is adequate.
Irregular sleep patterns disrupt the body’s natural circadian rhythm, which can negatively impact cardiovascular health.
