Black clouds engulfed the entire city


Islamabad: Rain with strong winds in Rawalpindi and Islamabad broke the heat wave.
MD WASA Muhammad Saleem Ashraf said that there was heavy rain with strong winds in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, due to which a rain emergency has been imposed in Rawalpindi.
A WASA spokesperson stated that 29 mm of rain has been recorded in Shamsabad, 30 mm in PMD, and 10 mm in Golra. After the rain, staff in Rawalpindi are in the field with heavy machinery.
According to the spokesperson, the water flow in Nala Lai is normal so far, the water level is 5 feet at Katarian, and 4 feet at the Gol Mandi Bridge.
It is pertinent to note that winds, hail, and heavy rains are continuing intermittently in the upper parts of the country, due to which the weather has become pleasant, and normal life has been affected in many areas.
Hail also occurred in various areas of Islamabad, including the Blue Area, while black clouds engulfed the entire city. The intensity of the heat decreased significantly, and the sudden change in the weather pleasantly surprised the citizens.
In Murree, the weather also became colder due to heavy rain, thunderstorms, and wind. After the rain, the rivers and canals overflowed, and the roads presented a pond scene. Power supply has been suspended, and tourists are confined to hotels.
The weather also took a sudden turn in Azad Kashmir and turned cold and pleasant due to the rain of black clouds in various areas, including the capital, Muzaffarabad. The heat wave broke, and the citizens breathed a sigh of relief.
In Peshawar and its surroundings, strong winds also affected life. Power supply has been suspended in many areas.
Meanwhile, heavy rain and hailstorms occurred in Swat and Mingora, after which a flood situation arose. Due to heavy rain, water entered houses and shops and flooded rivers and canals, while the power supply has also been suspended in many areas.
Strong winds, storms, and heavy rain also occurred in different areas of Abbottabad, Haripur, Attock, and Mardan.
In view of the rains, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert. The authority has directed the public to be careful and avoid unnecessary travel.
The NDMA has urged the public to avoid taking shelter in open spaces, under electricity poles and trees during storms and heavy rains, and to avoid traveling to affected areas.
