President of Pakistan joins TikTok, releases first video

According to the official Twitter handle of The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the video creating app has been joined “To spread the message of positivity & motivation for the youth of Pakistan, we will keep pushing inspiring videos for the TikTok users.”

In his Tweeted video message, Alvi assured to spread positivity and motivation for the youth of Pakistan.

“We will keep pushing inspiring videos for the TikTok users and the young generation,” the video message said.

"For me, Pakistan is like the sun, which is not rising but has reached half a day,"

Apart from this, the TikTok account of the President of Pakistan has also been shared on the official Twitter handle requesting people to follow.

TikTok has been suspended twice in Pakistan over objectionable content.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) recently withdrew the decision on banning the popular video sharing application TikTok and directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to restore the platform.

As per details, the order came on a plea of the telecommunication regulator requesting the court to withdraw its order that called for a ban to be placed on Tiktok.

In October 2020, the PTA had banned TikTok for the first time over complaints regarding indecent and immoral content.

The government lifted the ban 10 days later after assurance from the management that they would block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality.

In March, the PTA had directed internet service providers to immediately block access to TikTok in accordance with the orders of the Peshawar High Court.

The PHC had imposed a temporary ban on the platform's functioning in the country on a petition filed by several citizens stating that the content shared on the application was in violation of Pakistan’s Constitution, guaranteeing the social and moral well-being of citizens.

The ban, however, was lifted by the PHC a few weeks later, with a direction to the PTA to take steps to ensure that "immoral content" was not uploaded to the platform.
