Initially, wardens deployed on Mall Road have been provided with body cams

(Web Desk): In Lahore, traffic wardens have begun wearing body cameras, with those stationed on Mall Road being the first to receive them. According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), the primary aim is to ensure complete evidence during the issuance of traffic fines. The footage can also be used to monitor protests, rallies, and other public concerns.
CTO Lahore stated that the process of equipping traffic wardens' uniforms with body cameras has officially started. Initially, wardens deployed on Mall Road have been provided with body cams.
Dr. Athar Waheed explained that the purpose of these cameras is to maintain full evidence while issuing fines during duty. The recorded footage will assist in legal action against individuals who interfere in official duties.
He added that body cameras can also help in assessing road protests, rallies, and other incidents. The cameras attached to uniforms will serve as crucial evidence in case of any events or crimes occurring on the streets.
Furthermore, he mentioned that these uniform-mounted cameras will provide instant updates on the traffic staff's duty positions. Equipped with modern technology, these cameras are expected to bring about a positive change in public behavior.
