Target includes 115,530 household, 550 commercial, and 350 industrial gas connections


(Web Desk): Despite the ongoing gas shortage in the country, a plan has been prepared to issue over 116,000 new gas connections.
According to official documents, the target for the next fiscal year includes 115,530 new household gas consumers, 550 new commercial consumers, and 350 new industrial consumers.
In Sindh and Balochistan, 85,740 new gas connections will be provided in the upcoming fiscal year, while Punjab, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are set to receive 30,530 new connections.
Compared to the revised target for the current fiscal year, 96,209 new gas connections are planned for the next year. For the Sui Northern system, a target of 30,530 new gas connections has been set.
According to the available documents, the Sui Southern system is expected to handle 85,740 new connections in the coming fiscal year. The target for new household gas consumers alone is 115,530.
It is worth noting that for the current fiscal year 2024–25, the target for new gas connections was set at 68,990. However, the revised target for the same period has been reduced to 20,061.
