SC also orders abolishment of "C-Law" test

(Web Desk): The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered that the duration of the LLB program be reduced from five years to four years.
A five-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan heard the case related to legal education reforms.
The court directed that the LLB program be shortened to four years and also ordered the abolishment of the "C-Law" test previously required for those who obtained their law degrees from abroad.
During the hearing, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked that necessary steps should be taken to improve the standard of law colleges.
The constitutional bench also stated that if there are deficiencies in SM Law College, they should be addressed rather than closing down the institution altogether, noting that SM Law College existed even before the creation of Pakistan.
The Supreme Court adjourned further proceedings of the case indefinitely.
