Police not only opened indiscriminate fire on protesters but also arrested more than 500 individuals

(Web Desk): Attempts to suppress the ongoing anti-government protest rallies in Kenya—ongoing since last year—through force have resulted in over 100 deaths in total, according to an international news agency.
Among the victims during the protests was a leader, teacher, and blogger, Albert Ojuang, who died in police custody, sparking a wave of public outrage.
In Nairobi and several other cities, there were intense clashes between protesters and police, during which demonstrators demanded the resignation of President William Ruto.
The police not only opened indiscriminate fire on the protesters but also arrested more than 500 individuals, who are reportedly being subjected to torture in prisons.
It is worth noting that the latest protests in Kenya escalated on "Saba Saba Day"—a day observed in the country to mark the struggle for democracy.
This day is commemorated annually on July 7 in memory of the 1990 protests, when the Kenyan people demonstrated against the dictatorship of former President Daniel arap Moi in support of multiparty democracy.
