‘Signs of economic stability are visible, and the business community is supporting the government's economic policies’


Rawalpindi: Business leaders from across the country met with Field Marshal General Asim Munir in Rawalpindi to brief him on the current state of Pakistan’s economy.
According to sources, the delegation was led by former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ejaz and included key figures such as APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad, S.M. Tanveer, and others. Presidents of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce were also present at the meeting.
Gohar Ejaz stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on economic developments and trends. He noted that signs of economic stability are visible, and that the business community is supporting the government's economic policies.
He emphasized the need to create ease of doing business in order to facilitate economic reforms. He also called for lowering interest rates in line with inflation and addressing the concerns of the business community regarding the federal budget.
Gohar Ejaz added that a strategy focused on export-led growth will be pursued, and that promises made in the budget speech must be fulfilled. He also stressed the importance of protecting domestic cotton production and supporting local farmers.
