Nation pays tribute to Capt Sarwar Shaheed on 73rd martyrdom anniversary
The 73rd martyrdom anniversary of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, who was cited with the first Nishan-i-Haider for his gallant and actions of valor during the first war between India and Pakistan in 1947–48, is being observed today (27 July).
Born in Singhori village in Gujar Khan in 1910 Muhammad Sarwar, he was commissioned in Punjab Regiment during 1944.
DG Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar turned to twitter and wrote, “The nation pays tribute to Capt Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, on 73rd martyrdom anniversary”.
“His matchless chivalry, unwavering resolve & fortitude shall always be remembered. The supreme sacrifice he made, will keep inspiring defenders of the motherland in times to come,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain also paid tribute to Captain Sarwar, saying he is a shining example of bravery.
He said Captain Sarwar Shaheed's invincible courage and unwavering loyality will forever be an example of determination.
