Lahore, Multan, Sukkur: Sutlej and Chenab wreaked havoc in Uch Sharif and Ahmedpur Sharqia. Another part of the Motorway M5 was washed away in floodwater at Jalalpur Peerwala near Multan. Four people drowned in Alipur, but their bodies were found. People from the mud areas refused to evacuate.

15-year-old Kashif Gabol drowned in Alipur’s Ghalwan II village. In the second incident, three uncles and nephews who went to get rations also drowned in floodwater. The deceased were identified as Nadir, Rustam, and Hafiz Babar. The Pakistan Army, Edhi Foundation, and the rescue team recovered all four bodies

According to the Multan Chief Police Officer, the eastern part of the M5 motorway was flooded due to a crack. Earlier, the western part of the M-5 was flooded. Motorway police and NHA personnel are present at the scene with machinery.

He said that the water of the Sutlej River is flowing heavily on the motorway towards the Chenab River. Stones are being poured into the crack to reduce the flow of water. The motorway from Multan to Jhangra has been closed for the 8th day.

60 villages in Minchanabad are underwater due to the Sutlej water. Basti Virkan Wali, Basti Kharlan, Basti Bhattian, Basti Amane Wali, and Basti Fazil are severely affected. There is 6 to 7 feet of water around the affected villages, and land routes cannot be restored.

The difficulties of the victims are increasing due to the floodwater everywhere, and there is a risk of spreading diseases.

The floodwaters of the Sutlej and Chenab rivers caused havoc in Uch Sharif and Ahmedpur Sharqia. The connecting roads of Badani, Chak Kahal, Kachi Shukrani ,and other areas were washed away by floodwaters. Flood victims, women, and children started returning home through floodwaters.

The victims were moved to tears after seeing the destruction of their collapsed houses, crops, and gardens.

There is several feet of water in Chak Kahal, Rasoolpur, Makhan Bela, Bakhtiari, Ismailpur, Tarand Basharat, and other areas. The flood victims have demanded immediate compensation for the damage to their houses and crops.

On the other hand, low-level floods in the Sutlej River at Bahawalnagar destroyed crops and cut off land communications.

The flood caused terrible destruction in the settlement of Mara in Shujaabad. The victims have not yet been able to settle in their homes.

The Sindh and Chenab rivers have passed through Liaquatpur but have left traces behind. Houses in hundreds of settlements in 35 locations have collapsed, and crops have been destroyed.

Some rooms, walls, and hundreds of houses have completely collapsed. The roads connecting them are also damaged due to the flood disasters. Flood victims have started returning home after wading through the water along with women and children.

On the other hand, the water level in the Indus River at Guddu Barrage is continuing to decline. The inflow of water at Guddu Barrage has been recorded at 319,180 cusecs, and the outflow of water at 290,819 cusecs.

The inflow of water in the Indus River at Sukkur Barrage was recorded at 420,470 cusecs, and the outflow of water at 367,090 cusecs.

The floodwater of the Indus River has started receding from the areas of Kachha. The flood situation persists in the Kachha of the three union councils of Sehwan.

More than 50 villages in Sehwan tehsil and 20 in Manjhand tehsil are underwater. Hundreds of acres of cotton, onion, potato, and other crops have been submerged.

The district administration’s rescue and relief operation is also underway in Kachha. However, the residents of Kachha are confined to their homes and have refused to move to safer places.

An emergency has been imposed on the Sehwan-Larkana dam of the Indus River.

High-level floods occurred at Kandiaro on the Indus River. The dam built to save the ancient village of Bakhari in Kachha was broken.
