‘Exhibitions play a pivotal role in connecting education and industry, provide a platform for academia, students, and industry experts to collaborate effectively’

(Web Desk): The 9th Pakistan Industrial Expo 2025, jointly organized by the University of Sargodha (UoS) and Everest International Pvt. Ltd, kicked off on Saturday at the Expo Center in Lahore. Provincial Minister for Communication and Law Punjab Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
He was accompanied by the Vice Chancellor UoS, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor University of Education Lahore, Prof. Dr. Akif Anwar, Pro Vice Chancellor UoS, Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Director of Everest International, Mr. Wang Zehai, Chief Executive officer, Mr. Yousaf Fa, Manager, Mr. Zorain Qeng, Pakistan Navy Commodore Shafiq ur Rehman, Commodore Mehtab Khan, deans, directors, heads of various academic and administrative units of UoS, owners of Chinese companies, renowned exporters and importers, and notable members of the commerce and industry sector.
Around 200 Pakistani and Chinese companies are showcasing their products and services at this event, aiming to facilitate investment in various sectors within Pakistan. The expo is designed to bring together industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and students to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and showcase the vast potential within Pakistan’s industrial landscape.
Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister, Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth emphasized the need for substantial investment to revitalize the economy and highlighted Pakistan's strategic position in South Asia, rich in investment opportunities and facilities. He commended the efforts of Vice Chacellor UoS, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Everest International Pvt. Ltd for organizing this activity to attract international investors and expressed the enduring friendship between China and Pakistan, stating that China has always been a close friend, and the two nations share a history of favorable relations.
Highlighting the significance of the industrial expo in attracting foreign investment, Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas emphasized that exhibitions play a pivotal role in connecting education and industry, provide a platform for academia, students, and industry experts to collaborate effectively. He expressed optimism about the potential for Pakistani-Chinese companies to contribute to both import and export opportunities, providing full support and encouragement to investors on all forums. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between education and industry for the prosperity of any nation.
Mr. Wang Zhei highlighted the numerous opportunities emerging in Pakistan's trade sector, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and predicted that ongoing investments would further enhance efforts to uplift the national economic growth of Pakistan.
The chief guest, along with the Vice Chancellors and other esteemed guests visited various stalls set up for the seventh Pakistani Industrial Exhibition. They engaged in discussions with directors, CEOs, owners, and investors from different Chinese companies, addressing topics ranging from investment to new projects and import-export activities.
