UK’s Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab arrives in Pakistan
Islamabad: United Kingdom (UK) Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Dominic Raab reached Islamabad last night for an official two-day visit. He will be discussing the Afghan issue and bilateral ties.
As per sources, the Secretary of State will be meeting Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and the discussion will encompass the evolving Afghan situation and bilateral relations.
Moreover, Raab is expected to meet the top-level leadership including the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
He is further scheduled to visit the Torkham Border alongside the officials of the British Consulate.
As per British officials, he is visiting the border to get an overview of the on-ground situation.
Furthermore, Great Britain and Pakistan are working closely to corroborate the Afghan Refugees.
Before Raab’s visit to Pakistan, he visited Doha and had a conversation with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
“We must engage with the Taliban, but we haven’t yet planned to recognize the Taliban government,” he said.
