Pakistan to get 5G internet service by 2022-23
Islamabad: Pakistan is planning to launch the most advanced 5G internet service in 2022-23 which will accelerate the downloading speed 10 times to one gigabit per second (Gbps).

According to the annual report by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the country is developing a comprehensive roadmap to launch 5G technology aimed at auctioning spectrum for 5G services in the fiscal year 2023.
In past years, few cellular companies successfully tested 5G services but on trial basis but those trials were conducted purely on non-commercial basis.
Pakistan is now the first country in South Asia to test 5G with a download speed of more than one Gbps. The tested speeds stands 10 times high compared to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) on 4G internet in the world.
As per Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Aminul Haque, the government wanted to launch 5G technology by the end of 2022 but experts in different fields are still doubtful, believing the country will take a much longer time to roll out this advanced technology.
“The modern technology would make great economic progress when it comes to Pakistan,” Aminul Haque added.
