By-polls; Tough competition expected between PTI and PPP as voting begins in NA- 221
Tharparkar: Polling on National Assembly seat, NA-221 Tharparkar on Sunday has started at 8:00 am and will continue till 5:00 pm without any interval.

According to details, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established 318 polling stations for the by-poll and declared 13 of them as sensitive and 95 as highly sensitive.
There are 12 candidates in the race to win the by-elections but a tough competition is expected between Pir Ameer Ali Shah Jilani of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and Nizamuddin Rahimoon of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).
Total 281,900 voters will cast their vote in the NA-221 Tharparkar.
As per the District Returning Officer (DRO), Rangers and police officials will provide security during the polling process.
Sindh Rangers would also be deployed at sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations.
Moreover, the officials has installed 200 CCTV cameras at various stations.
The NA-221 became vacant after Pir Noor Muhammad Jeelani of PPP lost his life due to novel coronavirus in December 2020.
