Quetta; As petroleum products continue to rise in price, sugar prices in Quetta have reached an all-time high, exacerbating the challenges faced by the public.
The cost of sugar in the city has soared to Rs195 Pakistani per kilogram, with a staggering increase of Rs20 per kilogram.
In Karachi, the situation is no better, with sugar prices climbing to Rs165 per kilogram in wholesale markets.
At the retail level, sugar is being sold for prices ranging from Rs175 to Rs185 per kilogram, marking an increase of up to Rs4 in the wholesale market.
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has written a letter to Brazilian commercial attachés expressing the intent to import one hundred thousand metric tons of sugar from Brazil.
