Islamabad: Pakistan will observe a nationwide mourning day on Friday over the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
This was decided during meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, held to discuss the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
Meeting decided that after Friday prayers tomorrow, a funeral prayer in absentia for Ismail Haniyeh will be held across the country, and a day of mourning will be observed to express solidarity with Palestinians.
The meeting expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.
According to the meeting's statement, a special resolution to show solidarity with Palestinians will also be presented in Parliament.
The participants condemned the ongoing Israeli brutality against unarmed Palestinians for the past nine months and expressed full solidarity with their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
The statement highlighted that the international community remains a silent spectator to the Israeli atrocities in Palestine. It urged the global community to take a clear stand against the violence and brutality.
The meeting demanded that the international community, including the United Nations, break their silence and immediately stop the genocide of Palestinians by Zionist forces.
