Disciplinary action against cops who refused duty during PTI protest
Officials who were absent from duty can also be punished with dismissal from service
Islamabad: Legal action has been initiated against the Islamabad Police personnel who had excused themselves from duty during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest.
Following the instructions of the Inspector General of Police Islamabad, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Establishment of the federal capital issued a circular on December 3 to take disciplinary action against officers and officials who were absent from duty.
The copies of the circular have been sent to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, DIG Security, DIG Law and Order, DIG Safety, AIG Logistics Islamabad, and AIG Special Branch.
An order has been issued to initiate action against those who were absent from November 23 to 26 within two days and the lists have been summoned immediately. Police officers and officials who were absent from duty can also be punished with dismissal from service.
