The ECP has submitted its reply in the petition, filed by PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi

A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court led by Justice Umar Ata Bandial was hearing the PTI appeal against the ECP’s ruling on the Daska by-election.

The ECP has told the apex court that the polls were made controversial by deploying selected officers in the area.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) turned down the plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking suspension of ECP’s decision regarding re-polling in NA-75 Daska on March 18.

The court, while adjourning case till March 16, stated that it would examine PTI candidate's application at the next hearing.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Elections Commission on February 25 had ordered re-polling in the entire NA-75 constituency on March 18 after suspicions that the results of the by-elections held earlier may have been falsified.

Prior to that, the returning officer in NA-75 constituency had halted the by-poll results, following violence and alleged vote fraud.
