Temperatures are likely to subside during the forecast period in most parts of the country.


Islamabad: The Met Office has forecast that heatwave conditions are likely to subside during the coming days.
A statement released by the Met Office today (Thursday) stated that a westerly wave is likely to enter upper parts of the country tonight and is likely to persist till Tuesday due to which rain with dust and thunderstorm is expected in different cities including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Temperatures are likely to subside during the forecast period in most parts of the country.
Earlier, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had issued a heatwave warning and advised the public to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
The spokesperson said very hot and dry weather may cause water stress on water reservoirs, crops, vegetables, and orchards.
Tips to avoid Heatwave:
- Stay in an air-conditioned indoor location as much as you can.
- Drink plenty of fluids even if you don’t feel thirsty.
- Avoid caffeinated beverages, as they can act as diuretics and promote dehydration.
- Take it easy during the hottest parts of the day and schedule outdoor activities carefully.
- Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing and sunscreen.
- Take cool showers to cool down.
- Never leave children or pets in cars.
- Check the local news for health and safety updates.
