WhatsApp to no longer run on old iPhones
WhatsApp has announced to discontinue its support for Apple's operating system iOS-9 and older devices. Further the social messaging application announced that now only iPhone 5 or advanced Apple smartphones would be provided support.
WhatsApp's recently published support document states that WhatsApp has ended its support for iOS-9 and now The app will run only on phones running iOS 10 released in 2016 and afterwards.
Note that until now, WhatsApp could be used on iOS-9 running iPhones, but now the end of support means that WhatsApp will not be available to users with iPhone 4s.
Users having iPhone 5 or later that still have iOS 9 installed on it are also advised to upgrade right away.
This is not the first time WhatsApp has done this. Last year, WhatsApp also shut down the service for devices running iOS-8.
So if you are an iPhone 4s user, back up your chat right away so you can transfer the data to another phone.
