Apex court strikes down LHC's ‘No helmet, no petrol’ ban
Lahore: The Supreme Court has set aside Lahore High Court (LHC)'s ‘No helmet, no petrol’ ban on Wednesday regarding selling the fuel to motorcyclists without safety helmets.
As per details, the Supreme court decided to lift down LHC's ban observing that the ban is tantamount to usurping basic rights. Moreover the court stated that law cannot enforce such a ban which stops selling petrol to bikers without helmet.
Earlier in December 2018, the LHC had banned to sale fuel to bike riders without safety helmets. It was also directed to seal the petrol pumps who fail to abide by law and enforced to wear helmets without gender or any other discrimination.
