Indian factory makes 6,000 syringes per minute
New Delhi: India's largest syringe factory Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices (HMD) is currently producing some four million syringes a day by making 6,000 syringes per minute.
Factory’s owner Rajiv Nath stated that he is turning down as many as 40 requests for syringes from across the world.
The HMD is in huge demand now as various countries try to upgrade up vaccination against novel coronavirus.
Rajiv in an interview stated “Making millions of syringes is still not enough as the world needs 10 billion syringes to vaccinate just 60% of its population.
“Better coordination between the WHO, governments and syringe makers will smooth the way going forward,” added Rajiv Nath.
