Islamabad: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI)-based inflation for the combined group increased 0.61% during the week ended on 25th of March, compared to the previous week.

The data has been released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and is calculated on the basis of the prices of essential food items from 50 markets in 17 cities of the country.
According to the data, the prices of tomatoes were increased by 20%, Bread by 1.64%, Chicken by 8.81%, Bananas by 1.55% and Wheat Flour Bag by 1.01% with joint impact of (0.53%) into the overall SPI for combined group of (0.61%).
Moreover, the price of ghee and eggs also increased by Rs. 2.88 and Rs.0.61 respectively.
On the other hand, a downward trend in prices was observed in the prices of Garlic, Onions and Potatoes.
