Court suspends Ishaq Dar’s permanent arrest warrants
"Ishaq Dar was ready to surrender"
Islamabad: An accountability court in Islamabad on Friday suspended permanent arrest warrants of senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
According to details, ATC Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the PML-N leader's plea seeking the cancellation of permanent arrest warrants.
Ishaq Dar’s lawyer Qazi Misbah appeared before the court. He informed the court that his client was ready to surrender.
Dar’s lawyer Qazi Misbah pleaded the court to order the National Accountability Court (NAB) to withdraw the warrants since his client currently living in London was ready to surrender. “It is my request that the former finance minister is not arrested on his arrival in Pakistan,” he said.
Giving a chance to the PML-N leader to surrender, the court ordered Ishaq Dar should not to be arrested on his return to the country and suspended his permanent arrest warrants issued by the NAB until October 7.
The judge remarked the court will look into the cancellation of the arrest warrants once the former finance minister sets foot on the motherland.
