Govt decides to take action on Broadsheet Commission report
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry Thursday announced that the government will take action against the nominees in the Broadsheet Commission's investigation report.
Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting, Fawad Chaudhry said that the Broadsheet Commission report was presented in the cabinet after which it has been decided to take legal action against people named in the report
Fawad Chaudhry said that the names of Ahmar Bilal, Hassan Saqib, Ghulam Rasool, Abdul Basit, Shahid Ali Baig are included in the report however Tariq Fawad who started the broadsheet issue – action will be taken against all the nominees.
“We are thankful to Broadsheet inquiry commission for finding Swiss cases record against Zardari,” said Chaudhry, adding that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) now has a record of Swiss case and they can reopen cases against Zardari.
Further speaking about the COVID-19 vaccination, the federal Minister said that 98% of the population will be inoculated for free, however, the 2% of Pakistanis who do not wish to stand in queues can pay and get themselves immunised from private hospitals.
He added that two COVID-19 vaccines Russais's Sputnik V and China's CanSino have been imported in Pakistan so far.
"The Russian vaccine's price cannot be determined at the moment, as the issue of setting its price is currently underway in the Sindh High Court," he said. "However, CanSino's price has been set at Rs4,225 per dose.
The federal minister said that people have to get two doses of all other COVID-19 vaccines, however, for CanSino, they need to get only one jab.
Mr Chaudhry said that the issue of health is very close to Prime Minister Imran Khan, health cards are being provided to the people in KP and Punjab and it has been decided to issue health cards to the citizens of Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad.
He said that Pakistan has fully competed with the first and the second wave of corona and will also compete with the third wave.
