Karachi: Amid surge in Covid-19 cases the Sindh Education Department has decided to suspend traditional classes for the next fortnight starting from Tuesday.

The Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani turned to his official twitter handle and wrote, “The Sindh Education Department has decided to suspend physical classes for the next fortnight from Tuesday, April 06 in all public and private schools across the province, in view of the ongoing situation of Covid”.
“However, children's education can be continued through online, homework and other means,” he added.

Earlier, Saeed Ghani convened the steering committee meeting on the instructions of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah after the task force had advised the provincial government to close the schools for at least two weeks.
Following the meeting, associations of private schools opposed the closure of schools and called for continuity in educational activities at the schools.
