Magnitude 6.8 earthquake jolts eastern Tajikistan
No immediate loss of life or property was reported.
Dushanbe: A 6.8 magnitude earthquake tremors have been felt in the eastern regions of Tajikistan on Thursday.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck around 5:37 am local time at a depth of about 20.5 kilometers (12.7 miles).
The epicenter appeared to be in Gorno-Badakhshan, a semi-autonomous eastern region that borders Afghanistan and China, about 67 kilometers from the small mountain town of Murghob.
According to the reports, no immediate loss of life or property was reported.
Chinese media reported that an earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred near the Xinjiang region of China and the border of Tajikistan.
