Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhary asked Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to explain where the option of single day election was written in the Constitution.

Taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhary while retweeting a tweet of by asked him, “Where it is written in the Constitution?,”.

He put this question after the interior minister claimed that if it is written in the Constitution that the elections should be held within 90 days then it is also written there that these should be on the same day.

Rana Sana Ullah made this claim during this visit to Faisalabad—his home town—on the occasion of Eid. Talking to the reporters, the interior minister said that the elections after the dissolution of assemblies within 90 days is a part of the Constitution but the same constitution gave clear instructions that the elections National Assembly of all provincial must be held simultaneously under the caretaker setup.

He also stated that if the elections were held in Punjab before the elections of National Assembly, the winning party whosoever would have an edge to influence and capture the elections to be held in the later phase.
