Closely monitoring situation in Pakistan: US State Department

Washington: The spokesperson of US Department Matthew Miller said that they have already mentioned the close monitoring of situation in Pakistan.
He stated: “We don’t have a position on one political candidate or another inside Pakistan”.
We call for respect and equal application of democratic principles, freedom of expression and rule of law around the law and o0f course in Pakistan, he continued.
The spokesperson said that US urge that these principles be respected for all people.
Talking about recent terror attack in Pakistan, he said: “We are saddened by the devastating reports concerning the deadly militant attack at the Pakistan oil and gas facility which killed our security troops, two private guards”.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of those who were killed and we wish for the speedy recovery of those who were injured,” Miller added.
US continues to closely follow the development but we understand the responsibility for attack has yet not been claimed, added Matthew.
