Mexico: More than 100 people have died in Mexico due to extreme heat in June.

According to foreign media reports, the Ministry of Health of Mexico has confirmed that 112 people have died as a result of the intense heat wave that has been going on for the past few weeks.

It has been stated in the media reports that due to the heat wave that has been going on for three weeks, the temperature has reached 50 degrees Celsius in different areas.

The intense heat has increased the demand for electricity to a record while the authorities have announced that due to the extreme heat in some areas suspension of educational activities has been announced.

According to Mexico's health ministry, two-thirds of the nearly 112 deaths occurred between June 18 and 24, while the rest occurred earlier.

Foreign media stated that only one death was reported due to heat during the same period last year in Mexico, but this year, the highest number of deaths occurred due to heat, in which some people suffered from excessive sweating and severe dehydration.

Reports indicated that about 64 percent of the deaths occurred in the northern state of New Leon, which borders the US state of Texas.

Officials told that due to the rains in the region, the temperature somewhat decreased, but in other heat-affected areas, severe heat conditions are still maintained, where the temperature in the town of Sonora state reached 49 degrees.

According to officials, the average temperature across Mexico this summer has been 30 to 45 degrees, while another heat wave is expected from July 1.
