IMF to approve first installment of $1.1 billion for Pakistan today
United States has also welcomes the Staff Level Agreement of IMF with Pakistan.
Islamabad: International Monetary Fund (IMF) Wednesday will approve the first installment of $1.1 billion for Pakistan, GNN reported.
According to details, the executive board of IMF will have the meeting today in which Pakistan will also take part. The participation of Pakistan in the meeting has been verified by IMF.
United States has also welcomes the Staff Level Agreement of IMF with Pakistan. The spokesperson of US state Department Matthew Miller, while giving the press briefing said: “Our support for country’s economic success is unwavering and we will continue to engage with Pakistan to technical engagements”.
US vows to continue to strengthen the trade and investment ties with Pakistan all of which are priorities for their bilateral relationship.
Matthew continued to say: “We believe Pakistan has a lot of hard work ahead to be on a long term sustainable path for economic recovery and prosperity but we will continue to stand by them through the process”.
“US does not ask Pakistan or any other country to choose between US or Peoples Republic of China (PRC) or any other country,” he clarified.
