‘Healthy Diet-Health Forever’ campaign being launched all over Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says good public health is closely related to healthy and nutritious food.
Islamabad: The "Healthy Diet-Health Forever" campaign is being launched all over Pakistan on the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to keep consumers abreast of the nutritious value of their food.
In a tweet on Sunday, he said good public health is closely related to healthy and nutritious food. He said it is right of the people to know what ingredients are added to the food they are supplied with so that they can make informed and transparent food choices.

The Prime Minister said under this campaign, every restaurant will inform the consumer about the total calories of the food. Besides, complete nutritional information based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization will be printed on packaged food items. Additionally, trans-fatty acids are being restricted to only two percent to prevent heart and other diseases. He said Prime Minister's Strategic Reforms Unit is promoting this campaign across Pakistan in collaboration with food authorities of all provinces.
Shehbaz Sharif said our hospitals should be deserted, while our sports grounds should be teemed with players and this campaign will be the harbinger of a healthy future.
