US statement regarding Pakistan’s upcoming polls
The spokesperson stated that like other countries, we urge Pakistan authorities to act according to the constitution and laws.
Washington DC: United States has issued a statement regarding the dissolution of assembly in Pakistan and upcoming elections.
The spokesperson of US State Department Matthew Miller while responding to the questions about elections and dissolution of assembly in Pakistan said: “The decision of Pakistani politics is for the people of Pakistan to decide according to their constitution and laws”.
The spokesperson stated that like other countries, we urge Pakistan authorities to act according to the constitution and laws.
According to the spokesperson, US State Department is committed to working with Pakistan on many issues.
It should be noted that today (Wednesday) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to send an advice to the President to dissolve the National Assembly.
On the other hand, Prime Minister said that currently no one has been shortlisted for caretaker prime minister, a decision will be made in a day or two. He added that he will discuss the name that comes up with the opposition leader.
