Women population is about 46pc and employment rate is at 22pc in last 13 years

Islamabad: The unemployment rate has increased from 1.5 percent to 7 percent in the last 10 years.
The report of the Ministry of Planning revealed that the population is increasing by 5 million people every year, which is a burden on the country's economy, along with unemployment increasing in the country.
According to the Planning Commission report, the unemployment rate in Pakistan has increased from 1.5 percent to 7 percent in the last 10 years. Unemployment in India is 4.5 percent and more than 5 percent in Bangladesh. The unemployment rate in India has decreased every year, and an increase has been recorded in Pakistan.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the percentage of women in the population is about 46 percent, while the employment rate of women has been frozen at 22 percent in the last 13 years. GDP growth is insufficient to meet health, education, food, and other basic needs. It is difficult to improve poverty, health, and educational facilities without controlling the population.
The document said that Pakistan is ahead of India and Bangladesh in unemployment, and Pakistan is also the worst in female employment compared to other countries in the region.
According to the released document, unemployment in Pakistan was recorded at the highest level in history during 2021. To end unemployment, Pakistan needs 1.5 million jobs annually, 17 percent of women in the labor force, and the youth unemployment rate must be reduced by 6 percent.
The document stated that with $1,680, Pakistan's per capita income is also lower than other countries in the region. The per capita income for the current fiscal year has been estimated at Rs550,000, which is an increase of about Rs70,000 compared to the previous fiscal year.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan has the highest population growth rate in the world, and at the current rate, the population will double by 2050.
The document added that due to lack of resources, about 25.5 million children are out of school, due to which the literacy rate was recorded at only 61 percent, with the highest number of out-of-school children in Punjab (9.6 million), Sindh (7.8 million), KP (about 4.9 million) and Balochistan (more than 5 million). Pakistan is also the second largest country in the world in the number of out-of-school children.
The situation is so dire that out of 38.3 million, about 7.7 million houses are unpaved.
