Federal govt finalizes Waqar Mukhtar for NEPRA chairman
Cabinet officially approved Waqar Mukhtar as NEPRA Chairman today.
Islamabad: The federal government has officially selected Waqar Mukhtar as the nominee for the position of NEPRA Chairman.
It's noteworthy that Waqar Mukhtar currently holds the position of Special Secretary in the Establishment Division of the Pakistan Administrative Service.
After the completion of Tariq H. Farooqi's four-year tenure as the NEPRA Chairman, the position has been vacant.
Around two dozen individuals applied for the position, which is generally for a two-year term.
For the appointment of the NEPRA Chairman, a selection committee was headed by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ijaz Sadique.
Among the three candidates proposed, Waqar Mukhtar was given the first preference.
The other two candidates were former Deputy Commissioner PPA Abid Lodhi and NEPRA Member Sindh Rafeeq Sheikh.
