Delay in elections will bring serious consequences: Raza Rabbani
"The election commission should not treat the issue as a routine matter," he added.
Islamabad: The National Assembly would be dissolved in six days but the ECP has not yet made any election announcements, Senator Raza Rabbani stated on Tuesday.
The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Senator remarked, "Time is swiftly approaching the 90-day constitutional deadline for elections, but regrettably the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has yet to give a thorough declaration on the election.
Following the acceptance of the findings of the digital population census, "The ECP should inform about the time limit it required for fixing boundaries of constituencies," Rabani stated.
"The election commission should not treat the issue as a routine matter," he added.
"The delay in holding elections within the period allowed by the constitution, will bring serious consequences for the federation," Senator Rabbani said.
