British researchers have initiated work on nanoparticle sensors for the timely diagnosis of cancer.
Hence for self-diagnosis of cancer, pregnancy-style urine test strips will be introduced soon, which will enable timely detection of the disease.
These nanoparticles will be able to diagnose the stage and type of cancer by examining the tumor.
The sensor could also be used to differentiate between different types of cancer and predict whether tumors will regenerate after the treatment.
Nanoparticles are designed to target tumors and release DNA sequences. The analysis of these DNA barcodes can reveal details of a patient's tumor.
