According to the details, above the venues of the 2021 Summers Olympics, no aircraft can fly and the areas would be under strict restriction established by the military.

Organisers call the decision to make the event more secure.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics is rescheduled between July 23 to August 8 in Japan, which were previously postponed due to COVID-19.

“Regular flights departing from or arriving at Tokyo's Haneda airport will not be subject to the restriction,” the ministry clarified.

“The no-fly zone will be in place from two hours before the start of competitions to an hour after they finish, covering flights of all altitudes,” it added.

The game’s opening and closing ceremonies will be marked by strict security measures. The participants, athletes and officials will be made to follow all the restrictions imposed to protect the spread of the virus.

About the safety of athletes and coaches, they will undergo a saliva-based test every day. Furthermore, transportation of the athletes and officials will also be limited.

Also, a 14-day quarantine restriction will be imposed on overseas players and athletes.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic’s Torch Relay is also presaged to be cancelled when the oldest person in the world, the 118-years-old Japanese woman decided to back off from the Torch Relay.

The situation of coronavirus in the country and the possibility of extension in the lockdown have been casting more shadows over the event.

609,603 COVID-19 cases have been reported till now in Japan, including 10,466 deaths, since the outbreak.
