Imaan Mazari rearrested hours after bail in sedition case
Imaan Mazari’s remarks from a political rally were read aloud in court per the court’s orders.
Rawalpindi: A Pakistani lawyer and rights activist has been rearrested hours after a court granted her bail in a sedition case on Monday.
In another case filed with the Barakahu Police Station, in which she is accused of making accusations against sensitive organizations, Mazari was detained outside the prison.
An Islamabad anti-terrorism court (ATC) approved the release after Mazari entered a post-arrest plea in a sedition charge.
Judge Abul Hasnaat Zulqarnain of the ATC heard Imaan Mazari’s bail request. Her mother Shireen Mazari appeared in court with the defence team.

Regarding the human rights activist's request for bail, the prosecutor said that the USB report had not yet been delivered. He went on to add that the speech needed to be forensically examined.
The judge granted Imaan Mazari's plea for release on bail once the trial was finished.
The post-arrest bail application for Imaan Mazari was due today, it should be noted. The Saturday hearing was postponed without a decision being made.
