Chief Minister instructed DG LDA and the contractor to complete both the projects within the stipulated period.


Lahore: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi visited Shahdara Flyover and Bedian Road underpass project under construction on Nawaz Sharif Interchange.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the ongoing construction works on both the projects, reviewed the progress and advised to work harder.
He expressed satisfaction with the construction works of Shahdara flyover project. Chief Minister of Punjab directed the traffic coming from Gujranwala to pass through alternative service road.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said: “Full service road should be leveled immediately and restored for traffic, the police should efficiently manage the traffic”.
Later, Naqvi reached the underpass under construction at Nawaz Sharif Interchange Bedian Road where he directed to accelerate the work.
The caretaker chief minister stated: “The completion of both projects will provide convenience to the citizens and permanently solve the problem of traffic jam”.
The timely completion of Shahdara flyover project will solve the major problem of traffic from the main entrance and exit of the city, he continued.
On this occasion, Commissioner Lahore and Director General (DG) Lahore Development Authority (LDA), briefed the minister that 84% of Shahdara flyover project and about 40% of Nawaz Sharif Interchange Bedian Road underpass project have been completed.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave necessary instructions to DG LDA and the contractor to complete both the projects within the stipulated period.
During the briefing, it was informed that day and night work is underway to complete the Shahdara flyover project within the stipulated period. The completion of Shahdara Chowk flyover project will facilitate the movement of 300,000 vehicles per day.
It was further informed during the briefing that 1,20,000 vehicles will benefit from the construction of underpass on Bedian Road Nawaz Sharif Interchange.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamiana and Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider were also present on this occasion.
