Islamabad: The Prime Minister's House has received a report on the illegal activity of smuggling in Pakistan on Sunday.

According to reports, 722 currency dealers in Pakistan are engaged in the hawala/hundi business.
There are 205 hawala/hundi dealers in Punjab, 183 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 176 in Sindh. Islamabad has 17 hawala/hundi companies, 104 in Balochistan, and 37 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The sources added that the Prime Minister's House has been given information about the officers, lawmakers, and dealers involved in the smuggling of Iranian oil.
As per statistics, more than 2.81 billion liters of oil are trafficked from Iran to Pakistan each year. It continues by saying that Pakistan suffers annual losses of more than Rs60 billion as a result of the smuggling.
It further says that the proceeds from the smuggling of Iranian oil are being used by terrorists. There are 76 dealers involved in the oil smuggling in border areas of the country.
Furthermore, the investigation states that Iranian oil is sold at 995 gas stations around the nation.
Additionally, it claims that 29 lawmakers are complicit in the nefarious practice of selling Iranian oil that is being smuggled, in addition to 90 government officials.
The report also asserts that Iranian vehicles are used to transport oil into Pakistan.
